Math Workshop is an exciting, hands-on time of the day. It follows the model below and is differentiated to meet the needs of all learners.
Mini-Lesson: The whole class gets cozy in the meeting area to learn a new skill.
Guided Practice: I guide the class through a new skill and we complete math work together.
Stations:
Teacher choice (I work with a small group of students to introduce, review, or extend the mini-lesson)
Independent/ Partner Work (Students complete work independently or with a partner)
Math Facts (Games and activities to reinforce the mastery of addition and subtraction facts through twenty)
Technology (Reflex Math Website, Problem Solving or activities to review previously introduced skills and
concepts
Share (We discuss what worked well, what we learned, and some students may share their work.)
**On various days, math may be taught through whole group instruction or in partnerships due to the content.
